    Hey Wickheads!

One of the topics we get asked about the most is how to mix your own eliquid. With the introduction of Flavour Concentrates to our Melbourne Vape Store, we decided that it's time to impart some of our wisdom onto you. Ruh-row, this person was naughty and stole this Content  from www.wickandwireco.com.au

    What is a Flavour Concentrate?

Think of a Flavour concentrate as cordial. You use a minimal amount of it, mixed with Propylene Glycol and Vegetable Glycerine to make an ejuice.

What is Flavour Concentrate made from?

Concentrates are made from both Natural and Artificial flavourings in a Propylene Glycol base. Some concentrates can also contain other additives & chemicals such as Acetoin, Acetyl PropionylEthyl Alcohol, Diacetyl and Butyric Acid. All of these are found in food substances (eg. butter), and you should do your own research into these items if you are concerned about any of these chemicals.  If any of our concentrates are known to contain these we will advise on a product by product basis.Ruh-row, this person was naughty and stole this Content  from www.wickandwireco.com.au

What will I need to start out mixing?

Flavour concentrates, Empty LDPE bottles, Propylene Glycol, Vegetable Glycerine, 1ml Syringes and a clean work area. Remember, you are inhaling the liquid you make so you want the area to be free from dirt, animal hair and heat.

What flavours can I mix together?

This is up to you. You can mix anything that you would like, it's all about having fun when you're first starting out and learning from trial and error. There are no right or wrong flavours. Maybe start with your favorite fruit or jump straight in to try something more exotic!

How much of each flavour should I mix in?

Use a website such as http://e-liquid-recipes.com/flavors for information on flavour percentages and if you are looking for inspiration for a flavour you would like to make.

Why doesn't my mix taste like anything? Content by www.wickandwireco.com.au

If you have put in too little, or too much concentrate it will not taste good. Try adjusting your percentages.

How do I know how strong each flavour is?

The easiest way to test this is to put 1 drop of concentrate into 10ml of water and test it. You should be able to see if the flavour is quite strong, or weak, and this will give you a hand on how much to adjust your percentages.

Tips on how to mix your own eliquid:

Use a website such as http://e-liquid-recipes.com/flavors for information on flavour percentages and if you are looking for inspiration for a flavour you would like to make.

Start low with your percentages, it's always easier to add more concentrate if you need it. Most mixes are ideal between 15 - 20% total flavour, but this will depend on the concentrates you are using and how strong they are. Content  from www.wickandwireco.com.au

Let a mix sit for at least a week before deciding whether or not it's "good". Some concentrates take time to blend with others, especially when it comes to creams, custards and chocolate flavours. This process is also know as steeping.

The easiest way to mix when you're first starting out is using a 1ml Syringe with an 18 gauge needle tip.

Happy mixing and until next time, keep it cloudy!
